The right TESOL course for you
Our Associateship in TESOL Certificate by distance learning is primarily designed for people who want a professional TESOL qualification but who cannot take a taught course because:
- they are already teaching abroad but without a TESOL certificate; or
- they cannot access a taught course in their area; or
- they are working and have no time free to take a taught course; or
- they have family commitments and so have no time to take a taught course; or
- they do not wish to pay £1,000 for a taught course.
Our TESOL certificate course is a cost effective and professional way to train, with accreditation from the College of Teachers based at the Institute of Education in London.
Our TESOL course is an excellent choice for both native speakers of English, as well as non-native speakers of English with a high level of accuracy and fluency. English does not need to be your first language.
Applicants should be at least 18. Many gap-year students have completed the course and gone on to have very rewarding teaching experiences in different parts of the world. There is no maximum age limit for this course.
You need a standard of education that would allow you to take a higher education course. Having a degree is an advantage but not a requirement, so don't be put off if you have a rather unorthodox collection of qualifications and experiences. Sometimes these can be a distinct advantage!
All our TESOL courses are offered by distance learning and are not online courses. TESOL online courses require you to login every time to view the course material and tasks. The feedback on TESOL online courses tends to be minimal and, overall, such courses are likely to be limited in range and depth. We do not believe that this is the best approach for a TESOL training programme. A TESOL distance-learning course provides you with a package of carefully designed course materials which you can work through at your own pace. There are assignments at various points which you will complete and return to your personal tutor; a short time later you will receive comprehensive and helpful feedback.
