Waylink English - resources for international students & teachers of English:
We have ongoing working relationships with various trusted organisations relevant to teaching and working abroad.
The TESOL-direct TESOL teacher training courses and TESOL business English course are accredited by the College of Teachers established by Royal Charter. This accreditation means that our courses have reached specific standards set by this long-established and well-respected external validating body. So you can be sure that your course materials are not only of the highest quality, but also that your certificate will be accepted worldwide.
Institutions providing courses accredited by the College of Teachers are required to adhere to rigorous quality control procedures and are assessed by experts in TESOL to ensure the highest standards of quality, course delivery and candidate assessment procedures.
On successful completion of your course you will receive a College of Teachers TESOL certificate - Associateship of the College of Teachers in TESOL which will entitle you to use the designation ACoT (TESOL) after your name.
Our 150-hour ACOT(TESOL) course is equivalent to NQF Level 5. The National Qualifications Framework (NQF) sets out the level at which a qualification can be recognised in England, Northern Ireland and Wales.
The 150-hour TESOL Certificate (Associateship in TESOL) and the 110-hour TESOL Certificate of Educational Studies are accredited by the College of Teachers. Accreditation by the College of Teachers assures the quality of the course materials and the quality of the trainers; as a result, these TESOL qualifications are accepted all over the world. On completion of your course, as well as a certificate from TESOL-direct you receive a certificate from the College of Teachers and membership of the College of Teachers.
When you are choosing a TESOL distance course or TEFL distance course you should make sure that the certificate you receive is both accredited by an internationally recognised institution and is at the right level to enable you to teach effectively in a classroom. College of Teachers' accreditation is a hallmark of quality and recognition.
The College of Teachers gives the following guidelines for the uses of each of their TESOL certificates and the minimum number of hours that each course level should provide:
The Certificate of Educational Studies – COES (TESOL) |
|---|
|
The Associateship of the College of Teachers – ACoT (TESOL) |
|
We offer both the COES (TESOL) course, which provides about 110 hours of learning and assignment activities to complete, and the ACoT (TESOL) certificate which provides about 150 hours of learning and assignment activities to complete. Both of these allow you to start classroom teaching immediately whether you already have some experience or are new to teaching English to speakers of other languages. Clearly, the 150-hour course is more substantial and provides an even stronger foundation for a career in teaching English to speakers of other languages.
