However, this is not the same as an online course. An online course will normally involve a student logging on to access course materials, assignments and marks for assignments. This can work well for courses with limited material and simple assignments. However, online study is unlikely to be suitable for a TESOL or TEFL course.
People sometimes confuse distance-learning courses with online courses; however, the two are different. Distance-learning courses are usually far more comprehensive and do not tie you to an internet connection.
A distance-learning course will generally provide course materials for students by download from a secure server, on a CD or in printed form. This method of training is suitable for TESOL/TEFL courses with a significant level of material, varied assignments and a high level of feedback from tutors.
