In my opinion, the quality of the course was first class. The whole course was well written, clear, interesting and well thought out. It was full of useful class-based activities which I will refer to and use when teaching. My tutor was direct, available and helpful in his approach, but most importantly he put as much effort into his comments and feedback as was required of me, the student. His feedback was as much a part of the course as the course content. I found his ideas and also his criticisms a vital part of the learning process.

It is not easy to study in isolation as I have had to do here in the South of France, but I have had all the resources I have needed and all the support needed to complete the course to my satisfaction. It is also worth saying that my wife is a teacher and she has read much of the course. She found it, as I did, well written, instructive and a great resource to begin a teaching career.

The textbook used for this course was amazing. It blended practical application issues and theoretical perspectives. I learned a lot about motivating students in a classroom, building their confidence, and supporting their language learning process. The only element I would have liked more focus on is that of the area of the English grammar system. The Grammar Guide provides excellent reference material but in terms of developing subject knowledge further, I would have liked an assignment related directly to grammar.
